Key Facts Statement

Before you sign a loan agreement, you receive a Key Facts Statement in a language you understand. It states, in a standard format:

  • the sanctioned loan amount and the net disbursed amount;
  • the total interest charge and the Annual Percentage Rate (APR), which includes all fees and charges;
  • the repayment frequency, the number of instalments and the amount of each;
  • the processing fee, penal charges and any other cost;
  • the cooling-off period and what it lets you do;
  • the details of the Grievance Redressal Officer;
  • whether the loan is intended to be transferred to any other lender.

No charge that is not set out in the Key Facts Statement is ever levied.

What we charge, and what we never charge

All fees payable by a borrower are disclosed in the Key Facts Statement and in the Interest Rate Policy. On loans sourced for partner lenders, our fees are invoiced to the lender — never collected from the borrower.

Cooling-off period

Every borrower may exit the loan within 2 days of the agreement date by repaying the principal and the proportionate APR, with no penalty.

We collect only the data needed to assess and service your loan, with your explicit consent, and we do not access your contacts, your photo gallery, your files or your call logs. Bank statement data is obtained only through RBI-licensed Account Aggregators. Our full Privacy Policy sets out the detail, including your rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and you may ask us to delete your account and data at any time from the Delete my data page.

Automated decision-making

Credit assessment at FriendLoan is supported by automated models. A human credit officer makes the final decision on every loan — approving, modifying or declining it — under the board-approved credit policy of the lender whose balance sheet the loan sits on. Every automated recommendation is logged and auditable.

Grievances

Our Grievance Redressal Officer, the escalation ladder, the turnaround times and the route to the RBI Ombudsman are set out in the Grievance Redressal Policy. Complaints about a Lending Service Provider or a digital lending app acting for us are handled under that same policy.
